Here are some excerpts from Section One: An Introduction To The Tree
"Another important thing to take into consideration is the fact that the tree is full with primal beings that predate the all too familiar High Gods of the Aesir and Vanir pantheons. In fact, these pre-god, primal beings represent the majority. They are often viewed as dark or evil, less than the gods, so connecting with them and speaking of them may give rise to some of our own prejudices. We may know a bit about Odin and Thor, Frigga, Freya and Freyr but what about all the ancient, primordial ones who dwell in the six other realms? Hela, Iormungand, Fenrir, Surt, Nidhogg, Loki, just to name a few. There are those who refer to them as a third pantheon, the Rokkr, a much older grouping of beings."
"To go to the place of the world tree is to go to the place of darkness, the ultimate darkness of Ginungugap, that great void or abyss that is simultaneously expanding
and contracting. This is the great womb from which all life flows. We flow forth from it. We return to it. Dark is the natural eternal state. Light, no matter its source or form, fire or star, only obscures the dark for a brief moment in time and then ultimately it will extinguish. I believe there is a connection here with the Norns who dwell in the darkness of the roots, as those who spin and weave all primal matter into form."
