Women Of The Always is an ongoing, online series, an adventure, an inquiry, a gathering of women who are willing to explore challenging and controversial topics, willing to ask and answer the question, 'What is possible when we remember who we are?' A Woman Of The Always speaks her wisdom through mystery.
What are the runes? Marks or letters of mysterious significance? A spell? An incantation? An ancient Scandinavian poem? Or are the runes simply letters of an alphabet?
In Old English the word can mean a whispered secret, a mystery.
Runes can be found cut into stone or wood, antler or bone. At times, they have been carved or tattooed into flesh.
After decades of being with the runes, listening to them, feeling them, living with them, I have come to know and truly understand that the simple, straight-line markings we call runes, are the signatures of ancient beings.
This is the original power of their magical meaning and presence. Their connection with an alphabet came much later, perhaps as a way to hide, in plain sight, from those who would destroy them, the knowledge of who and what they actually are.

I am a rune woman, a woman of the runes. I speak in whispered secrets, I speak words with mystical meanings. I share wisdom gained from sitting in silence and darkness with the ancient, sentient, vibrational beings whose signatures the rune markings are. I am humbled and in awe. I am in service to the gift of this knowing that was given to me by my ancestors.

It is chaos coming into form and returning again to the darkness.
It is time for us to remember.

We are living at a time in history when people are disconnected from the earth, severed from their ancestral roots, obsessed with light and noise, and out of touch with nature. Rune wisdom can help us find our way home, bring us back into balance. Rune wisdom is ancient earth wisdom. It guided the lives of indigenous Northern European tribes long before the conquering destruction of Christianity and the invading Roman armies. Runes are not a magical alphabet brought to us by the Vikings. Their origin is primal and powerful, shimmering in the waters of the Well of Remembering, hidden deep in the roots of the World Tree, woven into the very pattern of darkness that is the source of all that is.
