Skeletons and bare trees in winter are great symbols for endings as they represent being striped down to the elemental structure of things.
Exploring our feelings and thoughts around bones and skeletons can be difficult or emotional.
These feelings are connected to our feelings around death and endings.
Bare trees are also skeletons. They are visible evidence of the endless cycles of life.
For our ancestors, the hearth was a liminal space, an in between space, a threshold. The hearth provided an opening or passage between the outside and the inside and in some traditions such as the Celtic, the hearth was the place where the ancestors came and made themselves visible or felt.
What do you believe about mirrors? What do they reflect? Is your reflection in a mirror a memory? Are you looking back, or are you peering into the future? Or both?
